These guided, one-on-one experiences are shaped by thoughtful animal interaction and individualized learning. With a master’s degree in special education, sessions may include simple, intentional activities designed to support personal learning goals such as communication, regulation, confidence, or skill-building, all within a calm farm setting.

Experiences are guided by low-stress, relationship-based animal handling and are paced according to each individual’s comfort, interests, and needs, allowing space for observation, connection, and meaningful engagement.

These experiences are educational in nature and are not therapy or clinical services.

How Individual Farm Experiences Work

Each experience is thoughtfully planned and guided to support meaningful learning and respectful interaction with animals.

1. Intake & Planning
Before the visit, a brief intake helps me learn about the participant, interests, and learning goals. This allows the session to be thoughtfully planned and appropriately paced.

2. Guided Farm Experience
Sessions include individualized, hands-on activities shaped by the participant’s goals and comfort level. Experiences are guided using low-stress, relationship-based animal handling and emphasize observation, communication, and respectful interaction.

3. Reflection & Follow-Up (optional but powerful)
When appropriate, families may receive a short summary of activities and suggestions for continued learning or reflection at home.

A Shared Responsibility

Our farm experiences are built on mutual respect—for animals, participants, and the learning environment. To support a safe and meaningful experience, we ask that all visitors approach their time on the farm with patience, curiosity, and care.

Participants are expected to:

• Follow guidance for respectful, low-stress interaction with animals

• Move calmly and remain attentive during activities

• Treat animals, people, and spaces with care

• Support a safe and appropriate environment for all ages

These expectations help ensure that each experience remains positive, calm, and beneficial for everyone involved.

For the safety of our animals and guests, experiences may be modified or concluded if expectations are not met.

Scheduling

All Individual Farm Experiences and custom classes are scheduled by email inquiry only. Availability is limited to support animal well-being and quality experiences. Please email jodi@highdesertfarmstead.com for questions and scheduling. 

Pricing

Individual Farm Experiences are offered as guided, one-on-one educational sessions. Pricing reflects intake, individualized planning, material preparation, and thoughtful facilitation using low-stress, relationship-based animal handling.

Single Session
• 45 minutes — $110

Three-Session Package
• Three 45-minute sessions — $315
(Includes intake, individualized session planning, and all three guided experiences)
